ABOUT APA

Celebrating its 45th year of service in the automotive aftermarket industry in 2018, Automotive Parts Associates is one of the oldest program distribution groups in operation as a member-owned not-for-profit cooperative with approximately 60 independent Warehouse Distributor shareholders in North America.

Headquartered and centrally-located in Lenexa, Kansas in the Kansas City metro area the organization is focused on member services and aggressive supplier programs, APA creates over a half-billion dollars of buying power annually with no compliance requirements. APA is a founding shareholder of NEXUS North America and member of NEXUS Automotive International (N!) trade groups. In addition, APA is a member of the AutoCare Association, Import Vehicle Community (formerly AIA) and Automotive Warehouse Distributors Association (AWDA).

OUR CORE VALUES

SHAREHOLDERS FIRST

APA’s main core value is “Shareholders First” with a focus on maintaining a solid foundation for shareholders to build their businesses by creating initiatives designed to provide opportunities for shareholders to be partners rather than competitors in the marketplace.

NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES

APA provides various opportunities to network and learn from peers within the organization, from the Annual Shareholders and Suppliers Conference to regional meetings and APA-hosted events during Industry Week in Las Vegas.

100% SHAREHOLDER-OWNED

Unlike other program buying groups, APA is wholly owned by its shareholders which means everyone has full voting rights and a voice in the organization. There are no compliance or individual purchase requirements and shareholders also have the opportunity to get involved in the programs and initiatives by serving on various committees or the Board of Directors.

SHAREHOLDER SERVICES

APA offers services to give shareholders an opportunity to grow their businesses and earn additional revenue through APA-sponsored technology and business intelligence systems, customer loyalty programs and incentive trips.

TRANSPARENCY

Not only does APA negotiate competitive pricing and rebate programs with top-notch aftermarket suppliers for shareholders, APA provides a clear itemized report of qualifying purchase histories with each quarterly rebate. In addition, APA is the only program group that follows a not-for-profit business model with returns of all excess income after operating expenses to shareholders based on purchase volume with supplier partners.

WORKING FOR YOU

The dedicated HQ Staff are always available as a resource toward business success from questions about rebates or loyalty programs, incentive trip planning or incorporating business intelligence tools. The HQ team is working for you!

APA CARES

As a core value, supporting the communities where shareholders live, work and play is an important part of the organization. APA gives back to communities with philanthropic donations benefiting organizations that assist those in need after natural disasters both in and out of the automotive aftermarket industry as well as awarding five scholarships each year to shareholders’ families and employees in need of educational assistance.
